Domtar’s entry into the packaging business began with the decision in 2020 to convert our Kingsport, Tennessee, paper mill to manufacture packaging materials made from 100% recycled content. Today the mill can produce approximately 600,000 tons of high-quality, recycled linerboard and corrugated medium annually.
At Domtar’s Kingsport mill, yesterday’s boxes become tomorrow’s packaging. Each year, we convert nearly 700,000 tons of recovered paper (primarily OCC, old corrugated containers) into high performance, 100% recycled containerboard—closing the loop and giving fiber a longer life.
